Events Volunteer:

This is a more flexible role which requires no references or checks. Events Volunteers do not handle donations or perform official duties but rather work with our Registered Volunteers and staff at events:

  • No minimum requirement needed – you will always be with one of our registered volunteers or staff.
  • To help raise funds and awareness for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance
  • Helping out at summer events/gala’s
  • Events out and about in the community
  • Events at Supermarkets, Retail Centres and many more!
  • Bucket Collections

Registered Volunteers:

Our Registered Volunteers are a vital part of the YAA family who often represent the Charity at events, undertake speaker presentation on behalf of the charity and collect donations. To ensure their safety and ours, we ask for character references to be provided. In return, you will receive official YAA uniform and get invited to regular volunteer evenings and events.

Community Event Fundraiser

  • To help raise funds and awareness for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance
  • Attending community events as a representative of the YAA
  • To take YAA stock/merchandise, and stall equipment (if physically able)
  • To attend helicopter visits and assist with the helicopter landing and crowd control.
  • To feedback to YAA staff after the event
  • To promote the charity at any chance
  • To deal with money and bank complete with relevant paperwork

  • Public Speakers
    • To raise awareness and the profile of the charity by attending talks to various different groups, schools, clubs and organisations.
    • To get in contact with the organiser of the talk at least a week before to confirm the finer details, such as equipment needed, are we okay to take a merchandise stall, and a bit of background about the group.
    • To confidently deliver the key messages of the YAA to groups of varying numbers.
    • Able to adapt a presentation to suit the audience and the requirements of the group.
    • Able to use Microsoft PowerPoint/ very basic IT skills – PowerPoints and equipment will be provided by the Charity
    • Cash Handling
  • Bag Packing or Supermarket Collectors
    • To raise awareness for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance by providing a presence at supermarkets which have chosen us as their charity of the year or invited us into store for a day.
    • To interact with members of the public to generate awareness for the charity and spread the key messages.
    • To attend bag packs as a representative of the YAA or bucket collections.
    • To take our fundraising stall to the foyers of supermarkets.
    • To bank any money collected and complete the relevant banking paperwork.
  • Cheque Presentation Speakers
    • To raise awareness and the profile of the charity by attending talks to various different groups, schools, clubs and organisations.
